Office Vending in Malvern: What Great Valley Offices Should Know

November 5, 2026

Malvern is one of the busiest office areas in Chester County. The Great Valley Corporate Center alone covers about 700 acres of office and research space off Route 202, and the surrounding business parks add many more teams that spend the whole workday on site.

For office managers and HR teams in those buildings, the breakroom matters more than it seems. When the vending machine is empty, broken, or stocked with the same three snacks, employees notice. So do the people who have to keep calling the vendor.

HJ Vending is a family-owned vending company that already serves businesses in Malvern. Here is what to know if you are looking at office vending for your building.

How free office vending works

With full-service vending, your business does not buy or rent the machines. HJ Vending provides the equipment, installs it, stocks it, and handles maintenance. Your business provides the space and the electricity. Employees pay for what they buy, and that is how we earn our revenue.

Service is month to month, with no long contracts and no surprise fees. We would rather earn your business every month than lock you in.

Traditional machines or a smart cooler?

Most offices choose between three setups:

  • Combination machines with snacks and drinks in one unit, a good fit for mid-sized teams with limited space.
  • Separate snack and drink machines for larger teams that go through more product.
  • AI smart coolers, where employees tap a card or phone, open the door, take what they want, and are charged automatically. Smart coolers hold fresh food and drinks and feel more like a small market than a vending machine.

If you are not sure which fits, our post on traditional vending machines vs. smart coolers walks through the differences.

Stocking for an office team

The products should match your people, not a generic list. Before installation, we usually send a short survey for your team to fill out so we know what they actually want.

If we can source an item reliably, we will stock it. Along with the usual chips, candy and soda, current options include:

  • Salads, soups, sandwiches and wraps
  • Deli trays and hummus with pretzels
  • Protein drinks and protein bars
  • Vitamin water and yogurt
  • Jerky, fruit jerky, cereal bars, fig bars and popcorn

Healthy means something different to everyone, so we aim for a mix your team will actually buy. See our healthy vending options for more.

Coffee and water, too

Many Malvern offices want more than snacks. HJ Vending also offers commercial coffee service, and we are now quoting water cooler service, with both bottled and bottleless options. One local company can handle the whole breakroom.

Questions to ask any office vending provider

Before you sign up with anyone, ask:

  • Who do I call when something goes wrong, and will I reach a real person?
  • Is there a long-term contract?
  • Can my team request specific products?
  • Do you offer cashless payment?
  • How do you know when a machine needs restocking?

At HJ Vending, you talk directly with Matt and Michelle, the owners who run the business. No call centers and no ticket systems.

What happens during a site visit

Getting started begins with a free site visit. Matt comes to your office and looks at:

  • The size of your facility and how many people are on site
  • The space where machines would go
  • Access for delivery, such as door widths and hallways
  • Which options fit best: traditional machines, a smart cooler, coffee or water
  • The product mix, using a survey for your team

Most visits take 30 minutes or less. Larger sites can take a little longer.
